Legal debt collection · Handled by Rieck Advokater

The debtor can pay.
They simply will not.

Then our own lawyers take the case to the bailiff court. The claim does not change hands along the way — the lawyer has known it since the invoice went out. And there is no amount limit: claims over DKK 100,000 are pursued as an ordinary lawsuit.

The assessment

Most cases do not
belong in the bailiff court.

The credit assessment decides it — not impatience. There are three outcomes, and only one leads to court.

Legal track

The debtor can pay — but will not

This is where the bailiff court works. There is money or assets to attach, and an enforceable basis is enough to bring them out. The case must move on, and it must move on now.

Monitoring

The debtor cannot pay

A lawsuit against an empty pocket costs you money and gains you nothing. So we advise against it. The claim goes into monitoring, and we resume collection once the ability to pay returns.

Dispute

The debtor disputes the claim

Then it is not an enforcement case but a dispute. A lawyer assesses the objection, and if it does not hold, the case is pursued as an ordinary lawsuit — with you kept informed, not put to work.

We only recommend legal steps when they are worthwhile. Being able to tell the difference is what you pay a law firm for.

The process

The path through the courts

Follow the case in the portal. We file, appear in court and pay out the money — with no work for you along the way.

In the bailiff court
  1. Step 1

    Demand letter filed

We file the demand letter. The debtor receives the claim and a deadline to object.

  2. Step 2

Endorsed — force of a judgment

Without an objection, the court endorses the demand. The claim can now be enforced for ten years.

  3. Step 3

Attachment made in the bailiff court

We secure an attachment or instalment plan, which is monitored automatically. If the agreement is broken, we step in. If there is no ability to pay, the claim moves into monitoring.

  4. Step 4

The money is paid out to you

The amount is reconciled, booked and paid out to you the day after payment.

The difference

The case does not change hands.

Most collection agencies pass the legal part on to an external lawyer who has to be brought up to speed on the case — and who bills for it. With us, the lawyer sits in-house and has known the claim since the invoice went out.

01

Same case, same system

There are no case files to pack up and send on, and no lawyer to be brought up to speed on the case at your expense. You follow the legal part in the same portal as everything else.

02

No amount limit

The simplified debt-collection procedure stops at DKK 100,000. Our lawyers do not. Above that, the case is pursued as an ordinary lawsuit — the cap applies to the procedure, not to your claim.

03

The basis holds for ten years

A judgment or an endorsed demand letter extends the limitation period to ten years. If the debtor cannot pay today, the claim is still alive the day the ability to pay returns.

The costs

A known sum.
Not an hourly account.

You know what a legal case costs before it is brought — two fees per case and a success fee if the money comes home. No hourly billing, and interest, collection costs and court fees are charged to the debtor.
